Projects are, in my opinion, a crucial aspect of any artist's life, whether you're a painter, photographer, musician, designer, or involved in another creative pursuit. They serve as a platform to push boundaries, to delve into new ideas, concepts, and visualizations, not merely thinking outside the box, but considering what can be done with it. Projects compel us to challenge ourselves, to engage our minds in creative exploration.
However, it's easy to lose ourselves in the pursuit of complexity, forgetting that simplicity often holds the greatest power. Self-expression, hard work, and dedication should be the primary driving forces behind our creative endeavours. It's better to fail in originality than to succeed within the confines of limitation.
Often, we become disheartened by the work of others, feeling that theirs surpasses ours and stands out more prominently in the crowd. But what truly defines "better" in art? Art is subjective; everyone may emotionally connect with the same piece in vastly different ways. Thus, I believe the key lies in working on what feels right at that moment in life.
"Foggy" is my latest personal project, exploring the intricacies of the human brain and our perception of life and the world around us. Frequently, we find ourselves clouded by negative thoughts, our minds taking on surreal shapes and forms, unable to see the light at the end of the tunnel. We may feel sadness, melancholy, and discouragement from external events, yet often there's nothing truly holding us back. We are who we perceive ourselves to be, in life, in love, in friendship, and in work.
We are the masters of our thoughts, and we alone have the
power to shift our mindset towards positivity and hard work. The project itself is elegantly simple, featuring textured objects of various shapes, illuminated by soft lights amidst a misty ambiance.
I hope you find resonance in this project
